Microblading / Eyebrow Enhancement
Microblading is the hottest new procedure that everyone is talking about. Renew is happy to offer you this wonderful cosmetic enhancement in Central Illinois.
Are you unhappy with your present eyebrows – are they thinned on the ends from thyroid disease or from a past shaving incident – we have the perfect solution for you.
The microblading technique is somewhat different than tattooing which uses a mechanical device to implant ink. During the microblading process we use a special microblading pen to draw on individual hair-like strokes one by one. This can be done irregardless of how much hair is still present. Even though it’s not as deep as the regular tattoo it’s still a tattoo because a natural pigment is implanted under the skin. This is an extremely meticulous process that takes around two hours to complete. The results will last for one to two years before beginning to fade. Because of this it’s good to know that we pay so much attention to detail. The first hour is used to draw the shape in with removable pencil. That’s the longest part but really the most important step. During this time, the best customized shape for your face is chosen. The procedure requires time and cannot be done in an hour as some places have advertised.
Before your microblading procedure begins, a topical numbing cream is applied to the area to minimize discomfort, followed by a liquid anesthetic. For those that are very sensitive to discomfort, we can even add the option of having Dr. Rohde inject numbing medication to make it totally painless after the topical numbing medication is applied. This would require an additional charge for his time and expertise.
The best part about microblading is that there is no down time. Your new eyebrows will look great right away and you don’t have to hide, although slight redness and mild swelling is normal. So if you don’t want to let others know you had a procedure you might want to stay out of view for 48 hours and hold off on pictures right after your procedure. You must protect freshly bladed brows from all moisture–no sweaty workouts or washing your face with water for 48 hours. Some patients experience itching and redness during the first week, which Aquafor can alleviate. Brows will look slightly darker at first, but the color will fade 30 to 40 percent. Aftercare ointments are provided during your first appointment. You will need a follow-up one month, 40 minute touch up after your initial appointment. The healing process varies from person to person but averages between 25 and 30 days.
Long Term Care
